Houston Latino Film Festival Unveils Dates for Its Eighth Annual Film Festival

Houston, Texas (January 1, 2024) – Lights, camera, fiesta! The Houston Latino Film Festival is proud to announce the eagerly awaited details for its eighth annual celebration of Latino cinema, set to captivate audiences from March 20 to 24, 2024 in the heart of Midtown.

Marking its eight year, the festival promises an immersive experience beginning with an exhilarating opening night featuring live music and a vibrant art exhibition. The cinematic journey unfolds across five days at the Midtown Arts and Theater Center Houston (MATCH) – 3400 Main St., where more than 60 curated films—spanning short films, documentaries, features and more—will grace the screen (with all Spanish language films subtitled in English).

The festival’s dedication to showcasing both international and upcoming local talent is evident in its diverse selection, providing a platform for independent filmmakers to share their unique voices. The MATCH will be transformed into a cinematic hub, enveloping attendees in the rich tapestry of Latino storytelling and art. Festival-goers will not only indulge in the enchantment of independent cinema but also have the opportunity to expand their knowledge through informative workshops and talks hosted by seasoned filmmakers and technicians. These engaging sessions promise to enhance the festival experience by offering valuable insights into the craft of filmmaking.

“We are thrilled to bring together the extraordinary works of so many talented filmmakers from around the world, and foster an environment where our city can embrace Latino culture through art and film. Our aim is to redefine the festival experience by creating an inclusive and friendly atmosphere that resonates with the diverse spirit of Houston.” expresses Dave Cebrero, the Festival Director.

Beginning February 1st, 2024 early birds eager to secure an All-Access badge can take advantage of a discounted rate of $60 until March 19, after which the regular price of $70 will apply.  Alternatively, single-screening tickets will be available for $14, providing flexibility for those who prefer to savor the festival one film at a time. Both badges and single tickets can be conveniently purchased online at www.houstonlatinofilmfestival.org or in-person during the festival at the venue’s box office located inside the Gallery at the MATCH.

Join us for an unforgettable celebration of Latino cinema at the eighth annual Houston Latino Film Festival, where Latino storytelling comes to life on the big screen!  In February, the festival will announce the programming and names of special guests who will grace one more edition of this celebration that exalts Latino cinema.
