An indigenous migrant named Alex is put to the ultimate test, forced to enter the criminal underworld just to live another day. Anayeli, another indigenous migrant, struggles to save the life of her unborn son, as well as her own. They will both do unthinkable things to survive The Pool of the Nobodies.

About the Director

José Luis Solís Olivares is a film and theater director, screenwriter, and cultural promoter, alongside his academic development in the areas of humanities. He obtained a Master of Fine Arts at Tulane University and post graduate studies on digital filmmaking at University of California at Berkeley. His experience as film director and screenwriter have led him to develop and present his works in Australia, Alaska, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Bangladesh, Belize, Bogotá, Boston, Buenos Aires, Cartagena, Wales, Germany, Greece, Huesca, Huelva, India, Korea, Lisbon, Lyon, Madrid, Miami, Montreal, Moscow, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Saint Petersburg, Pakistan, Panama, Portugal, Rome, Toronto, Trinidad and Tobago, Switzerland, Salvador, Ukraine, as well as in the main cities of Mexico. He was awarded with numerous grants and fellows on artistic development included The National Endowment of the Arts of Mexico in three different instances. His first short film, “Tomorrow, I will” was an official selection at Montreal, Los Angeles, Huelva, Cartagena, Monterrey, San Antonio, and Puebla.
